Welcome to all students and parents to Czech and Slovak School of Sydney.

We are an exclusive and independent institution operating in Alexandria, Sydney. The school operates on a fully professional basis, with fully qualified Czech and Slovak staff and by strictly adhering to the Community Languages Program of the NSW Department of Education & Training guidelines and fully implements the syllabus of the NSW Board of Studies.

The Czech and Slovak school of Sydney opened in January 2010.

Our goal is to provide Czech and Slovak children with regular tuition of the Czech and Slovak languages and culture. Through this school the children will be able to retain their close link to the country of their origin and their families will have another opportunity to meet and develop new friendships. It is also an opportunity for the Czech and Slovak communities in the greater Sydney metropolitan area meet and develop bonds.

Our school will be attended not only by children from mixed marriages wanting to stay in touch with their ancestral roots, but also children of Czech or Slovak parents who have moved to Sydney for professional reasons and want their children to continue their education in the Czech or Slovak language. The school will regularly host events for the community, business partners and sponsors.

The inspiration for our project was the Czech School Without Borders that has had great success in Paris. Their model appealed to the Czech community in other countries and soon CSWB opened in London and Berlin and currently it has found supporters in Zurich, Brussel, Dresden and Munich who wish to follow the model for teaching their children Czech.

Bilingual children, whom the Czech School Without Borders educates, present for their mother country as well as for their adoptive homeland, great intellectual, economic and social potential. Thanks to their language and cultural knowledge these children will be able to retain their Czech identity abroad and contribute to greater understanding between nations.
