
Czech and Slovak School in Sydney employs qualified Czech and Slovak teaching staff, who further attend teacher training courses and professional development programs on a regular basis. The purpose of these courses is to enhance their knowledge and skills. Professional Development is a strict requirement set by the Community Languages Department. All staff at Czech and Slovak School of Sydney, including volunteers and admission staff who may be in contact with students at any time are screened by the NSW Education Department & Training.
No staff member in paid or unpaid capacity is allowed to enter the school unless screened under the “Working with Children Check” Act.

About me: I was born in Frydlant, but whole my life I live in a small village close to Usti nad Labem. I finished my studies at the Technical University of Liberec in 2010. I graduated as a primary school teacher with a specialization in specific disabilities of learning and behaviour. My interests are sports, culture, books, animals and my younger brother.

About me: I graduated from Charles University in Prague in specialization Czech language and French language for children in Secondary and High schools. Teaching languages has always been my vocation. I see a great importance of this outstanding idea of the Czech and Slovak School in Sydney whose aim is to spread and to keep up our beautiful mother tongue. It is a pleasure for me to participate in this project which has certainly the potential to be an important element in a specific Czech-Australian environment.

About me: I come from Jicin, a town of fairy tale in eastern Bohemia where I learnt a lot about fun and amusement. I graduated as a Primary School teacher, specialized in English, and worked as an English teacher for 4 years. Theatre and music belong to my most favourite activities. I spent almost 14 years as an amateur actress and performed as a singer for 6 years in a reggae music band. I undertook project education seminars aimed on drama classes at schools and led drama lessons as a teacher.

About me: I am a qualified Czech preschool teacher. I studied a Bachelor Degree at Charles University in Prague as well as an Advanced Diploma in Children Services in Sydney. I have been working with children since I was 16 as a Summer camp assistant and later on leader. Whilst studying at University, I started to teach as a dance instructor in Prague, I later taught children from the ages of 3 to 15 years music-locomotive education and ballroom also Latin-American dances. Later on I became a nanny of different aged children and also as an assistant in a Day Care Centre in Florida, USA. After one and half years in the USA I came back to the Czech Republic to start teaching in English preschools in Prague. Year later I came to Australia where I continued with my studies and started to work again as a nanny or babysitter and as a teacher. I believe I can bring and further develop my great experiences with children in full in the Czech and Slovak School of Sydney.

About me: I was born in Humenné, little town East of Slovakia. I studied at First Slovakian Girls Catholic High School in Trnava and finished my Masters of Arts in Slovak Language and Literature & Philosophy at Presovska University in Presov in 2000. I was classically trained in flute since age of 6. After my University Studies, I accepted a post of Slovak literature teacher at Humenne Gymnazium. After that I lived and worked in United States and England . One of my biggest passions is Classical and Traditional Slovak Folk Music as well as books. I love reading –the knowledge and challenge can be found in each of them.

About me: I am a highly-motivated, qualified, enthusiastic teacher with practical experience in teaching and tutoring children of all ages and in working with people with disabilities. I studied at the Matej Bel University in the Slovak Republic. I have a Master degree in Teaching Slovak language and literature and German language and literature. After my MA degree I studied Translation studies German – Slovak. After gaining my qualifications, I worked in Austria as an au pair for 1 year and studied German language at University in Vienna. Later I worked as a teacher of Slovak and German language and literature at Catholic School – Primary School in the Slovak Republic for 7 years. I planned every day lessons using a variety of materials and equipment to develop communication and social skills, creativity, self-expression and self-confidence. I completed a training for German teachers – Teaching German language as a foreign language in Gottingen, Germany and Film in German lessons in Munich.
