OUR TEACHERS

Czech and Slovak School in Sydney employs qualified Czech and Slovak teaching staff, who further attend teacher training courses and professional development programs on a regular basis.  The purpose of these courses is to enhance their knowledge and skills.  Professional Development is a strict requirement set by the Community Languages Department.   All staff at Czech and Slovak School of Sydney, including volunteers and admission staff who may be in contact with students at any time are screened by the NSW Education Department & Training. 

No staff member in paid or unpaid capacity is allowed to enter the school unless screened under the “Working with Children Check” Act.

About me: I graduated at the University of Brno in June 2009 as a Primary School teacher. Since my graduation I went to Australia and I look forward to bringing my energy, ideas and good fun to the Czech and Slovak school. I believe that the learning will be exciting and amazing for both sides. I am looking forward to the start of the new school year.

Monika Langmaierová

About me: I was born in Frydlant, but whole my life I live in a small village close to Usti nad Labem. I finished my studies at the Technical University of Liberec in 2010. I graduated as a primary school teacher with a specialization in specific disabilities of learning and behaviour. My interests are sports, culture, books, animals and my younger brother.

 
Šárka Mařanová

About me: I graduated from Charles University in Prague in specialization Czech language and French language for children in Secondary and High schools. Teaching languages has always been my vocation. I see a great importance of this outstanding idea of the Czech and Slovak School in Sydney whose aim is to spread and to keep up our beautiful mother tongue. It is a pleasure for me to participate in this project which has certainly the potential to be an important element in a specific Czech-Australian environment.

 
Ivana Pasovicová

About me: I was born in the heart of Slovakia,city named Banská Bystrica. Since I was 4 years old I have been dancing and singing in folk-group named Mati?iarik. Thanks to this great experience to know more about traditions of my country as traditional songs, music, dancing style and traditions. I have to stop with dancing after 11years when I decided to study at Conservatorium Jana Levoslava Bellu high school with main subject technical / opera singing but I done also subjects as piano, acting, dancing and pedagogic. After my final examination in 2010 I came to Sydney, Australia where I continue my studies at AIM (Australian Institute of Music). Since June 2011 I am part of this great Czech and Slovak school of Sydney. It makes me so proud to see how my kids grow and learn about our country. Even all activities and programs for families prepare by CSSS - it is just amazing to have a opportunity to meet in community people with same traditions and be part of it.

 
Pavlina Poláková

About me: I come from Jicin, a town of fairy tale in eastern Bohemia where I learnt a lot about fun and amusement. I graduated as a Primary School teacher, specialized in English, and worked as an English teacher for 4 years. Theatre and music belong to my most favourite activities. I spent almost 14 years as an amateur actress and performed as a singer for 6 years in a reggae music band. I undertook project education seminars aimed on drama classes at schools and led drama lessons as a teacher.

 
Adéla Saifrtová

About me: I am a qualified Czech preschool teacher. I studied a Bachelor Degree at Charles University in Prague as well as an Advanced Diploma in Children Services in Sydney. I have been working with children since I was 16 as a Summer camp assistant and later on leader. Whilst studying at University, I started to teach as a dance instructor in Prague, I later taught children from the ages of 3 to 15 years music-locomotive education and ballroom also Latin-American dances. Later on I became a nanny of different aged children and also as an assistant in a Day Care Centre in Florida, USA. After one and half years in the USA I came back to the Czech Republic to start teaching in English preschools in Prague. Year later I came to Australia where I continued with my studies and started to work again as a nanny or babysitter and as a teacher. I believe I can bring and further develop my great experiences with children in full in the Czech and Slovak School of Sydney.

 
Emília Sloviaková

About me: I was born in Čadca in the north-west part of Slovakia. I graduated from Faculty of Economics at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. I have working experience as child animator in Montenegro, a babysitter in London and Sydney and a teacher at the secondary school in Slovakia. I like hiking, cycling, traveling and spending time with kids.

Jana Tomisova

About me: I was born in Ostrava. I studied a Master degree at University of Ostrava in specialization of Social work. I have been working as an assistant of autistic child for three years. I came to Sydney to improve my English and to get a new experience. I am interested in modern art, design, photography and sports. In future I would like to continue with studies of English and to focus on the Interior design
